Alv B biobanks tissues, primary patient cell cultures and established cell lines of diverse cancers in cats and dogs. We are also establishing cell lines enriched in cancer stem-cells.
This material will be used in research and for establishing new diagnostic methods.We make cell lines available to collaboration partners, as well as gradually making selected cell lines available to the research community for a fee. Domesticated animal biobanks harbour immense potential for great scientific advances with broad societal impact. Canine and feline cancers are especially interesting for biobanking due to the similarity to their human counterparts and high translational value for human cancer immunotherapy.

We are biobanking normal canine and feline tissues and solid tumours from these two species.
Organoids
Organoids are prepared from canine and feline tumour tissues.
Primary patient cell cultures
We are biobanking early passages of canine and feline patient cell material such as normal cell cultures and diverse cancer cultures.
Cancer stem cell lines
Cancer stem cell lines are typically between passages five and ten and are enriched with cancer stem cells of a certain type. We are currently growing several canine and feline lines from diverse organs.

Normal stem cell lines are typically between passages five and ten and are enriched with normal stem cells of a certain type. We are currently growing several canine and feline lines from diverse organs.
Established cell lines
We are establishing normal and tumour cell lines beyond passage 10 that are characterised and can be used for research.
